Chapter 8

(1) List at least 3 strategies teachers can use to teach algorithms to students
(2) How can a teacher best assess whether a skill/problem set in class will be solved by students using algorithms or heuristics?

1 comment:

  1. 1) Teachers can carefully outline steps and processes and provide real-life examples where these processes can be used. They can closely monitor students' steps in the process while having them explain aloud how they are doing the work and assist them in evaluating where the problem may lie.

    2) Teachers can evaluate the desired end-result to determine whether algorithms or heuristics can be used for problem-solving. If an exact result is necessary (for example, in some scientific subjects), algorithms would be necessary. If open-ended, multiple- possibility or opinion-based answers are desirable, heuristics would be used for problem-solving.
